What are the tasks of our councils and what are they authorized to do? The Sahlgrenska Academy Rules of Procedure describe how the faculty is structured, as well as where in the organization various decisions are drafted and finalized.
The current Rules of Procedure are a heavily revised version of the Rules of Procedure and Delegation to which the faculty was previously subject. The new policy document, which was adopted last fall, supplements the policy documents that the university has drawn up at the central level.
“We have compiled an overview of our councils and committees, says Jan Rubensson, Assistant Administrative Director at Sahlgrenska Academy. “After everything now covered by university-wide policy documents was deleted, our new rules of procedure were only one-third as long as the previous document.”
The university’s Rules of Procedures govern the composition, tasks and authority of the Academy Board, as well as the dean’s responsibilities. The Sahlgrenska Academy Rules of Procedures describe the additional responsibilities that the Academy Board has delegated to the dean. The university-wide policy document also governs the Dean’s Council of Department Heads, but the Faculty’s Rules of Procedures contain information about the councils that have been established at Sahlgrenska Academy.
