We intend to fund four qualified researchers (SEK 1.5 million per fellow, SEK 500 000/year for three years), giving them the opportunity to undertake new research, develop leadership skills and put research experiences into practice with a view to improve healthcare. The fellowship corresponds to approximately 50-60% of fulltime employment, since we wish to encourage applicants to divide their time between research and professional activities in the social and health services.
The programme aims in a comprehensive manner to:
– improve human health and living conditions,
– bridge gaps between academic research and improvement measures in healthcare organizations,
– encourage healthcare professionals to undertake continuous improvement,
– foster future leaders in this field of knowledge.
Selected fellows will be offered:
– four training events annually, consisting of leadership training and encounters with international and national experts, with a view to help fellows become future leaders in both the scientific community and the healthcare sector,
– individual mentoring from experts in various disciplines that support scientific efforts to improve healthcare,
– collaboration in an international network of experts in this particular field of knowledge.
We aim for selected fellows to be able to:
1. lead the development of applied research into healthcare improvement,
2. devise and facilitate improvement activities,
3. contribute to generating capability and competence in Sweden in the area,
4. contribute to discussion and development of healthcare at the policy level.
