A report from the Swedish Research Council shows a structural difference between the sexes when it comes to career paths: Women teach to a greater extent while men do more research. And women still have a slower career than men.
Lecturer is the most common position within the university among both men and women – more than 9000 people are employed as lecturers. The second most common category of employment for men is Professor while the second most common for women is Adjunct and “other research staff without a doctorate.”
