Göran Stenman, Chair of the nomination committee, comments the work of the group:
“The nomination committee has, after obtaining suggestions from the Sahlgrenska Academy’s staff, prepared a proposal on new members to the Faculty Board. We have received a total of 75 nominations including 34 persons (17 women and 17 men). The members of the nomination committee have met on 7 occasions and thoroughly discussed all nominations. We have focused on identifying candidates who are well established and respected in academia, has a high level of scientific expertise in different research areas, great interest in and knowledge of educational issues, has international experience and contacts. We have also sought a gender balance among the nominees. The nomination committee’s proposal is unanimous and based on the nominations received, the work performed, and our own standpoint.”
