At the end of year 2017, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (GIG), will cease to exist in its current shape. At that point, the six years’ period of economic financing by the University of Gothenburg has reached its end. Since 2011, GIG has been a resource for gender research of all kind at all faculties. In this concluding seminar, we would like to pay special attention to the conditions of interdisciplinary gender research today by arranging a discussion with participants from universities in Sweden and England. This is followed by an open discussion on how we as gender researchers best can cooperate on but also improve current conditions: How can we utilize and continue developing the work that GIG has made possible? Finally, there will be refreshments while we intermingle and keep on discussing these urgent issues more informally. Everybody with an interest in gender research is welcome!
