Kerstin Heurling is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of neuroscience and physiology, University of Gothenburg, and she is a member in the newly started group of Molecular Neuroimaging, part of Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine.

At this WiSE lunch seminar, Kerstin will talk about her experiences working with positron emission tomography (PET), beginning as a project based researching assistant at Uppsala University, going on to work in pharma contract research, clinical trials and FDA applications and then back to the academic research.
Her own research focuses on methods for quantification of imaging based biomarkers of pathology in Alzheimer’s disease, with one foot in the world of seldom reached golden standards and the other in the world of approaches suitable for clinical research. In addition to an introduction to PET, she will also talk about the differences and similarities of working with research in the academic environment and in the industry.
On this WiSE lunch seminar Kerstin Heurling will also share her personal perspective on her career and being a woman in academia.
