A woman born without uterus was recently the second in the United States to give birth to a child through a uterine transplant, Time Magazine reports. Uterine transplants are the result of long-term research at Sahlgrenska Academy. The birth took place at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, part of Baylor Scott & White, where also the first American birth through uterine transplant occurred last year. The child, a girl, was born in February. The mother’s identity is not published, but the hospital announces that both pregnancy and birth were uncomplicated.
