The University of Gothenburg is currently reviewing how work with animal testing is organized. The review will be completed in the fall. This is being done because of the new regulations governing work with animal testing in Sweden, which will apply from this summer. Among other things, the new regulations clarify the criminal liability of the license holder and the lead scientist and divide up the role of director into three defined areas. If you lead projects that involve animal testing, then you need to read and understand the new regulations and inform the people who work under your ethical permission about the new regulations. The new regulations and general advice on test animals (SJVFS 2017:40, L150) can be found in Swedish on the Swedish Board of Agriculture’s website: http://www.jordbruksverket.se/download/18.7f235a3916096e0d1805c815/1527516280421/2017-040.pdf.
