Ulla Hellstrand Tang, researcher at the Department of Orthopedics, receives SEK 355,000 from the Knut & Ragnvi Jacobsson Foundation in Gothenburg. Ulla is researching digital assessment of feet in diabetes with the web-application D-foot. The purpose is to evaluate the quality of foot examination with the method, focusing on patient safety. At Orthopedics, Sahlgrenska, data on how many patients are at risk for foot ulcers will be collected. The project aims to contribute to a sustainable and equitable healthcare with better health and quality of life, fewer foot ulcers, less antibiotic treatment, less sick leave and lower healthcare costs.
