Assar Gabrielsson’s Prize is awarded for the best thesis in Cancer Research, defended at the University of Gothenburg, and conducted in the Region Västra Götaland during the last three years. The Prize gives the opportunity to receive a research grant of SEK 100,000 during the autumn of the same year.
Two prizes
Two prizes are awarded, one in basic scientific research and one in clinical cancer research.
Applications with all material must be available to the Fund’s office by February 1, from which additional information may also be obtained.
The fund’s board decides on the prize at a board meeting in the spring and the prize ceremony will take place in early May at the Gothenburg Cancer Meeting, which takes place in the Wallenberg Conference Center. A ceremony where the prize-winners will receive their diploma is planned to take place on May 7, 2019. The prize-winners can then apply for a research grant of 100,000 SEK by 1 October.
