Jörg Hanrieder, Associate Professor of Neurobiology at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry, has been awarded SEK 300,000 in contribution from Åke Wiberg Foundation. He receives the funding in order to develop advanced methods for chemical imaging based on mass spectrometry. The methods enable study of the molecular architecture of individual amyloid plaques in the brain, which are characteristic of the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease.
