For many years, Professor Marie Berg has been cooperating with Dr Denis Mukwege, who was recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts at the Panzi Hospital for women affected by sexual violence in the Congo of war. In a collaboration between the University of Gothenburg and Université Evangélique en Afrique, to which the Panzi Hospital is associated, she now contributes to the hospital also developing into an excellent center for maternal, childbirth and neonatal care.
We will also hear from University Lecturer Camilla Hesse, who has another collaboration with the Panzi Hospital. In an ongoing project, together with one of the doctors, she studies different aspects of transfusion medicine, such as blood group serological problems during pregnancy.
