Many people in working life have a disease or some form of physical or mental disorder that affects the ability to work. Mats Hagberg, professor of work medicine, receives SEK 2,400,000 from AFA Försäkring to investigate how conditions in the work environment, social life and leisure time affect the ability to work in such common diseases or disorders. Data from three databases will be analyzed with so-called mediation analysis to evaluate positive and negative effect on work ability. The project is expected to result in a description and evaluation of how the work environment, social life and leisure media mediate, that is, contribute to increase or decrease, the ability to work.
